CNC Router Bit Starter Set

I get asked a lot of questions by beginner CNC enthusiasts. One of the first questions that always comes up is where to find a CNC Router Bit Starter Set?
THE QUESTION
Cnc noob here. What is the proper name for CNC cutting bits? Any recommendations on where to purchase these cutting bits? Any recommendations on starter set/types etc is welcome. I am using a hitachi router M12VC on a Zenbot 4’x4’x5″ machine. I will most likely be cutting hardwoods like oak if i can. Similar work to sign work probably. I expect i would like high detail as well. Thank you My background: 3d animation schooling, “maker”, tinkerer, carpenter by trade, basic arduino knowledge. I have been playing with 3d printers and print services for a few years ,i am new new to cnc. Just got my machine in the mail. Hope its up to my tasks!

Rather than lead you on a merry chase all over the internet, I though I would compile a list of bits that you need to get started. To make things easier I selected only bits available through Amazon.com. Most of us already use Amazon anyway so why make it hard on yourself? This set of bits will get you through 90% of the projects you will encounter.I also set up another goal when choosing these bits. I wanted to keep the price below $200 for a complete set of router bits. The bundle includes 22 bit (some duplicates) and an average cost of $8.35 per bit.Can you find Router Bits cheaper somewhere else? Certainly. I suggest you shop around. When you find a good source of bits please share your information with us and we will pass it on to the readers.
